Do you need to site prep for your Shed?

You are ready to build your dream shed. A high quality shed increases the value of the home and allows you to store more on your property. But where do you begin? Whether you buy a shed to deliver or build onsite you might be wondering what the process looks like and what you need to do on your end to prep your shed site.

What is Site prep?

SIte prep is making sure the area where the shed is going is ready for building. You might want your shed built on a gravel or concrete pad, you might want your shed in a specific location that’s on or near a slope. Wherever you want your shed, there will need to be some prep work done to help ensure the proper build that will last a lifetime.  Site prep is preparing the area for the build meaning getting the ground level clearing away unwanted debris, and having the space ready for the build. At Lincoln Built site prep is included in your cost.

What’s the process?

Once you’ve booked your shed, paid the deposit, we’ll order materials and schedule the shed build. If you want a gravel or concrete pad we can help you connect with one of our partners or you can handle the logistics of that yourself before our scheduled build date.

A week before our build, we’ll call you to finalize details like shed location, window placement, etc.

First, we dig the first layer of grass and then we put gravel down and compact that. We use Tuff block plastic polymer to make sure the shed doesn’t touch the ground to protect it from rot. We level your shed perfectly with 2×6 floor joists and distribute the weight evenly to make sure the shed lasts a lifetime.
