What to expect in the shed building process?

You are ready to build your custom shed, you’ve booked it online, you’ve communicated with your contractor and you’re getting ready for the first day of the build. What’s that process like? And what are the steps that need to be accomplished for you to have your custom high-quality shed?

1. Staging:

At Lincoln Built, we walk all our materials into your backyard to the exact spot of your shed. We will set up all our tools and equipment near the site to streamline our build. We like to talk through the shed layout beforehand like the placement of windows and which side the door is facing but if you change your mind,  we can adjust the day of.

2. Floor:

We’ll work to make sure that the area for your shed is prepped and ready by making the ground level if needed before installing the high-quality Adventech flooring system

3. Framing the structure:

From there, we’ll frame out the walls and get the roof frame up. We’ll install the roof trusses that support the roof. On a typical build, we will complete Framing on the first day and will clean up the yard and our workstation to have it ready for the second-day build.

4. OSB and Shingling the Roof

Once we’ve finished framing we’ll add OSB to the roof and shingle it with 30-year architectural shingles.

5. Finishing Touches:

Once the structure and roof are complete we’ll add the finishing touches, We’ll add the windows and any other custom items you had ordered like ramps, lofts, workbenches, flower boxes, etc.

6. Clean up and final walkthrough

Once the shed is complete, we’ll clean up the area better than how we found it and do a final walk-through of your shed with you to make sure you are satisfied with the final build.
